Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program

The Abbott & Fenner Scholarship are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post-secondary institution. Students will submit an essay on the topic that appears on the scholarship page of their website.

Aero Club of New England 

The Aero Club of New England’s scholarship program encourages and helps support careers in aviation. Scholarships are awarded annually to U.S. citizens and permanent residents, who live within the six New England states. Recipients are selected on the basis of merit and need. Our scholarships have expanded in scope to include students in pilot training, aircraft maintenance, and aviation management. Ann and Michael Rosenblatt Women in Mathematics Scholarship Fund

The Ann and Michael Rosenblatt Women in Mathematics Scholarship Fund was created to provide tuition assistant to femal students who excel in mathematics. Students who have completed higher-level math courses are encouraged to apply. Apply online through the CFN website and scholarship portal.

This scholarship is awarded by the Sons of the Nantucket American Legion Scholarship Fund to provide educational opportunities to benefit graduates of Nantucket High School who are pursuing higher education at a certified college, university, vocational or technical school. The American Legion is offering scholarships for further education. A personal letter must be sent to the American Legion Scholarship Committee stating your intended college and major, your college expenses, and career goal after completion of college. See application for more information.

This $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving Nantucket High School senior or alumni studying art in college in memory of Rebecca Houser Westcott by her family and friends. This is a talent/desire-based scholarship. See application for more information.

Artists Association of Nantucket awards two deserving Nantucket High School seniors furthering their education in the visual arts, art education or art therapy or former grads currently studying art in college. See application for more info.

The Baxter Waldman Memorial Scholarship is aimed to assist graduating seniors whose primary residence is Nantucket and who is involved in their school and community. The type and amount of aid awarded shall be at the discretion of the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation and may include, but is not limited to, $2000 per year. Be Baxter Strong. The Billy Built Automotive Trade Scholarship will benefit a graduating senior of Nantucket High School interested in pursuing a career in the trades. This scholarship is intended to defray the costs of purchasing tools and/or equipment. See application for more information.

The Cape Area Pilots Association, Inc. offers several scholarship each year up to $5000. These scholarships are for students seeking aviation careers enrolling in higher education institutions specializing in aviation learning. Applications are now entirely online! Apply through the active portal on the CAPA Scholarship website.

The Cape Cod Association offers scholarships to students who were born on and currently reside on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, or Nantucket who are pursuing an undergraduate education. Applicants must be graduating high school OR a past recipient of a CCA scholarship. Past recipients deadline: 3/15/2026. High School Seniors deadline: 4/1/2026. The Cape Cod Foundation awards over 100 scholarships annually to local students pursuing many types of educational paths. Use their online universal application portal to be automatically matched with available scholarships. Deadline is March 1st!

Applicants should be graduating high school seniors who are college bound and have financial need. They should demonstrate academic achievement, hard work, integrity, personal responsibility, and leadership through community service and/or volunteerism.

Cape and Islands Veteran's Outreach Center Scholarship

Each year the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center awards seven $1000 scholarships, six to high school students who belong to a veteran family and a seventh is awarded to a student veteran currently enrolled in college. Check out their scholarship application for more information and to apply.

Charles "Jack" Gardner Memorial Scholarship

To provide tuition assistance for Nantucket High School graduating seniors in order to keep Jack's contributions to Nantucket High School athletics, the Nantucket community and his dedication to Nantucket's civic government alive. Student athletes or contributors to the Nantucket athletics department. No specific degree or major requirement, but special consideration for those having experience with, focusing on or majoring in government or civil service-oriented or entrepreneurship career paths. The Chris Witte Memorial Scholarship was established to celebrate Chris's passion for theatre and hopes to encourage the next generation of multi-talented Islanders to explore off the beaten path and pursue a creative future. Friends of Nantucket Public Schools will award two $1500 community service scholarships to graduating seniors. The criteria for eligibility is outstanding community service and are paid directly to the institution the student attends. See application for more info.

This Harvey Foundation scholarship will be given to deserving graduating seniors to further their career and education in culinary arts/restaurant/hotel management or hospitality. See application for more information.

Knights of Columbus will award renewable scholarships to current seniors or to former graduates from Nantucket High School. To be eligible for this scholarship a students must be a practicing Catholic with regular attendance at St. Mary's Church with evidence of parish and community service academic standing, moral character, responsibility, financial need, and extracurricular activities. Our lineage society, Descendants of Cape Cod and The Islands, will be offering a scholarship to (2) graduating seniors for the first time in 2026. Attached please find a fillable PDF application form to share with your seniors. 

Requirements: Graduating senior who attended all 4 years of high school at a Cape Cod public school including Technical School. Has a 3.5 GPA and accepted to a 2 or 4-year college or trade school

Recipients must be pursuing a course of study relating to health and/or health care (such as biology) at an accredited college, medical school or other educational institution. To be eligible for the Elizabeth R. Coffin Memorial scholarship, students must be seniors at Nantucket High School and have attended this school for four years. See application for more information.

Special consideration given to a young man who has taken industrial arts courses in high school or furthering his education in trade school. All young men are encouraged to apply. Purpose: To provide scholarships to upstanding Nantucket community members who are passionate about helping others and who have chosen a career path with this intention in mind. The purpose of the fund is to provide a scholarship to a Nantucket High School graduating senior who will be attending a certified trade school after completion of High School. The students eligible for assistance are members of the senior class of who will be graduating in good standing. Apply online through the CFN website and scholarship portal.

Gosnold, Inc., the Cape's largest provider of addiction and mental health services, is offering two $2500 scholarships to a graduating Cape Cod senior who has been accepted and is entering college in the fall of 2026. The student must plan to major in psychology, social work or another field of study that is relevant to addiction and/or mental health.

This scholarship supports a Nantucket High School senior or alumnus pursuing a future in marine science or a harbor-related trade, with demonstrated commitment to the marine environment. Reflecting GHYCF’s mission to protect Nantucket Harbor, it considers both academic and vocational pathways, with financial need as one factor in the selection process. Eligible to all graduating high school seniors and currently enrolled college students, the Hagan Scholarship Foundation provides up to $7,500 each semester for 8 consecutive semesters for qualifying candidates. Must hold a 3.5 gpa and be enrolled in a 4-year college or university. For more eligibility requirements and to apply please see the attached link.

The Henry David Thoreau Foundation identifies and supports outstanding young leaders from Massachusetts who demonstrate strong academic qualifications and a commitment to safeguarding the environmental welfare of future generations.

This fund is for friendly, hardworking, entrepreneurial NHS seniors or alumni who strive to be active members of the workforce or play important roles in small businesses on Nantucket. Its hope is to encourage the next generation to smile, work hard, and help others, making the entire island better through their efforts. Like Henry did. For graduating high school seniors and non-traditional students interested in pursuing an associate’s degree or certificate program, and must demonstrate financial need (applicants must show household income of $100,000 or less). Applications open March 15th! 

Horatio Alger Association is seeking high school seniors  who display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, and plan to pursure a bachelor’s degree. Students must have financial need and a determination to turn adversity into opportunity and pursue their American Dream. For more information please check out their website!

The Rebekah Assembly of Massachusetts, of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, offer a scholarship of $1,000 to qualified seniors who plan to further their education by attending a two- or four-year college program.

The recipient of this scholarship is the senior with the highest GPA in AP English, as selected by the English department. No application necessary.

Isabel and James Duffy Scholarships will be awarded by the Trustees of the Coffin School and will be paid directly to the college of the accepting student. Eligible students must be seniors at Nantucket High and have attended NHS for four years. See application for more information.

The purpose of the fund shall be to provide scholarships to graduates of Nantucket High School who are furthering their education in the fields of math or science. The students eligible for assistance are deserving graduates of NHS who are or will be majoring in mathematics or science, and who are looking to a career in education or medicine. The purpose of the fund shall be to provide scholarships to students or community members interested in pursuing studies or training in an animal related field. The type and amount of aid is at the discretion of the Community Foundation Board and may include but not limited to $2500 per year to the awardee's institution of choice. Executive Director of the Nantucket Conservation Foundation, Jim Lentowski devoted part of his life to preserving land on Nantucket. An annual $1000 scholarship was created to award two Nantucket-based students who are interested in pursuing the study of conservation, ecology, and related fields. Once annually, a scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be paid directly to the academic institution attended by the recipient. The Jamie Topham Scholarship will be awarded to a current an/or former Nantucket High School Student(s) pursuing a career in fire science, medical science (nurse, doctor, therapist, etc), or criminal justice field OR if a student is deemed deserving by the scholarship committee.

Applicant must be a US Citizen or permanent US resident, maintain a 3.0 GPA, be enrolled in a full-time, four-year college within the US, have leadership/community service activities, and have a parental combined adjusted income not exceeding $50,000. Apply online.

The John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum Foundation invites Cape and Islands 12th graders to participate in a writing competition to expound on the meaningfulness of a famous quote from President Kennedy. Please visit the website to learn more about applying!

The Nantucket Education Trust (NET), on behalf of the Kate MacLellan Soccer Scholarship Fund, will award a scholarship in the amount of $500 to a graduating senior. We invite interested seniors who are passionate about the game of soccer and who have participated in at least one (1) year of JV or Varsity soccer at Nantucket High School to apply for this Scholarship. The Last Minute Productions Scholarship will be awarded to one graduating senior or former graduate of Nantucket High School in the amount of $1000. The criteria for the scholarship eligibility is the pursuit of higher education/adventure in the music and/or entertainment production industry. Please see application for more information.

Since 2018 the scholarship has been awarded annually at the spring Spirit of MAWLE Awards Ceremony to a candidate who is interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement/criminal justice and who best represents Lt. Murphy's values and interests, which included hard work, integrity and academic scholarship. Please apply online.

The Maddequet Admiralty Association has established a Walter Gilman Page Scholarship for Nantucket students interested in pursuing a career in maritime studies, i.e. maritime-related or (other) trade school, oceanography, environmental science, or any B.A. or B.S. degree. Preference of the Magical Chicken Scholarship award will be given to a student who intends to pursue a degree in or related to Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Info Technology. If no such student exists in the graduating class, award shall be presented to a student who has shown passion for technology, without the intention to pursue a related field. The Nantucket Maria Mitchell Association is awarding one scholarship to a graduating Nantucket High School senior who desires to pursue a degree in STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. This is a one-time award.

The Mark Bavis Leadership Foundation aims to help deserving young men and women as they aim to improve themselves, their school or their community. The scholarship is available to any high school student in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Eligibility is not academically based, but awarded on the basis of need. Between $1,000-$5,000 will be given to those chosen by the scholarship committee.

This scholarship will be awarded to a student who is a Massachusetts resident and with a declared major in a broadcast-related field, and be enrolled or plan to enroll at an accredited two or four-year school. The student need not attend school in Massachusetts to be eligible. Go to their website for application and more information.

Available to high school seniors whose parents, legal guardians, aunts, uncles, or grandparents are members of a labor affiliated with the Greater Southeastern Massachusetts Labor Council. The student applicant may also be a member of a labor affiliated with the labor council. Three $2000 scholarships will be awarded to students who meet the criteria listed on the application. 

This scholarship is available to seniors, graduates and GED Certificate holders currently enrolled in an accredited culinary school, college or university and have a 2.65 GPA. Applicants must have worked a minimum number of hours to be considered. Application and instructions are available online. 

The Massachusetts Shellfish Officers Association has established a scholarship for senior high school students showing consistent interest in Marine Biology and are enrolled in a higher education Marine Biology program. See application for more information.

To provide scholarships to individuals pursuing further education in Environmental Science, Wildlife Management & Conservation, Animal Health & Behavio, Marine Science, Captive Wildlife Care, Forestry, Plant Biology, Ecology or other areas in the scope of Michael’s passion should apply. MUSACK (Music Underwriters Service And Concert Klub) will be offering one or two grants up to $5,000 to a graduate of Nantucket High School who is going to attend an institution of higher learning or post-graduate program that is related to the field of music. This is a one year award to a current senior graduate. See application for more information.

The Nantucket Anglers' Club Lema-Machado Fund offers scholarships to seniors and alumni who are pursuing a marine science and/or a conservation course of study. In the absence of eligible candidates, the Committee may select any applicant whom they deem worthy. The applicant must be a child or a grandchild of an active or honorary member of the Club and meet all requirements. To apply, please use this Google Form. 

The Nantucket Anglers' Club Pete Guild Scholarship Fund offers scholarships to a child or grandchild of an active or honorary member of the Anglers' Club. The candidate must be pursuing a business or marine-oriented course of study at an accredited institution for higher learning. The $1,500 U.P.O.N.S Scholarship is offered to a graduating senior for study at a qualified college, university, trade or technical school. The selected applicant must be a child or grandchild of an active or honorary member of the Nantucket Anglers' Club. The Nantucket Arts Council is a non-profit organization that supports and encourages a collaborative community of the visual, performing and literary arts through education, grants, scholarships and events. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide tuition assistance to graduating Nantucket High School seniors who are majoring in the arts: music, dance, literature, drama, and the visual arts. Examples of work are required. Apply online through the CFN website and scholarship portal. 

In honor of Tharon Dunn, the Nantucket Book Foundation asks qualifying graduating Nantucket High School seniors to apply. This annual $1000 scholarship will be awarded to an English Language Learner furthering their education. If no English Learners apply, consideration may be given to a student pursuing Literature and/or English Learner Education. The Nantucket Booster Club Vocational Scholarship will award one $1,000 scholarship to a graduating Nantucket High School senior who plans to pursue their post-secondary education at a vocational, technical or trade school. Applicants must have participated in NHS Athletics for at least two years and be enrolled to begin their trade or technical school between graduation and June of the following year. The Meghan Hughes Memorial Scholarship will award two Nantucket High School seniors, male and female, that are in good academic standing and have a connection to NBGC. Applicants must have plans to attend a certified college, university, vocational or technical school. Applicants must have been engaged with NBGC through current/previous volunteer work or employment during high school. For more information please check out the NBGC website. 

The Nantucket Builders Association Scholarship Fund will benefit graduating seniors or former graduates of Nantucket High School interested in pursuing a trade or professional career in the Building & Construction Industry. This is intended to defray tuition expenses associated with Trade or Vocational Technical School, or a degree program at an accredited College or University. See application.

The Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce is offering an annual scholarship award(s) of up to $1,000 to one or more graduating seniors. To be eligible for the award, candidates must be Nantucket residents and have been accepted to any accredited school or college. See application for more info.

Nantucket Conservation Foundation annually presents deserving Nantucket students the George A. Fowlkes Environmental Studies Scholarship. To be eligible for this award, the student must be furthering their education in the study of the natural environment, ecology, biology or natural sciences. An emphasis on environmental topics is preferred. See application for more info.

This scholarship is for Nantucket High School students who have demonstrated excellence in culinary arts and are pursuing ongoing education opportunities in the culinary arts field. Award of $1000. Apply online through the CFN website and scholarship portal.

The Nantucket Garden Club will award scholarships totaling $20,000.00 annually, to Nantucket High School Graduates and alumni whose educational pursuits reflect their personal commitment to our community while pursuing an education with a major concentration in Ecology, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Environmental Studies, Preservation or Botany. The Nantucket Historical Association Scholarship is available to graduating seniors of Nantucket High School who are Nantucket residents and are pursuing a four-year college degree. See application for more information.

The members of the Nantucket Lodge #66 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows will be offering scholarships to qualified Nantucket seniors who plan to further their education by attending a degree oriented college program. Please download their application to apply. 

The purpose of the fund shall be to provide Scholarships to graduates of Nantucket High School who intend to pursue a career in the fields of fiber arts, textile design or interior design. The type and amount of aid shall be at the discretion of the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation and may include, but not necessarily limited to $2500 per year. The Nantucket Police Charitable Association will award scholarships to several graduating seniors and alumni who demonstrate high character and have shown academic success. While the NPCA seeks to award a student who is studying criminal justice, it also seeks those with financial need for college expenses. Interested candidates should submit an application.

NSA offers scholarships for seniors of Nantucket High School and graduates who have completed at least one year of college with a grade point average of 3.0 or better and have declared or intend to declare a major in some aspect of marine science. Please complete an application form, official transcript and brief application letter postmarked no later than May 1st. See app.

The Nantucket Aquatics Boosters Club Scholarship is awarded to up to five graduating seniors who have been involved in the Nantucket Aquatics Swim Team Program during their four high school years. See application for more information.

The Nantucket Yacht Club will provide up to three scholarships of up to $7000 per year for four years to three graduating seniors who have demonstrated character and integrity, self-starting energy, voluntary activities and academic proficiency during their high school career. The student shall be enrolled in a four-year accredited college or university, and maintain a satisfactory academic standing to continue to qualify. The Beinecke Scholarship Fund at Nantucket Cottage Hospital helps students to finance their studies in medical and health care related educational and training programs. The fund benefits residents of Nantucket and employees of Nantucket Cottage Hospital, according to guidelines and requirements provided in the application form.

The NMI Foundation was created to support students with an interest in a career in the maritime industry. The scholarship has a value of $11,000 annually for a maximum of two years to be applied towards the Northeast Maritime Institute Associate in the Applied Nautical Science degree program at the Northeast Maritime Institute. The Nantucket Preservation Trust's Mary Helen and Michael Fabacher Scholarship offers students the opportunity to further building skills through the study of preservation carpentry or other building crafts. The goal is to encourage and promote traditional building methods essential for the preservation of Nantucket's historic architecture.

To be eligible, all applicants must be high school seniors and have applied to or enrolled in an institute for higher learning for the 2026-2027 school year. All applicants must be military dependents of those currently in active duty or reserve US Air Force, Air National Guard, US Army, Army National Guard, or Coast Guard. See attached application.

The Pat Martin Scholarship will be awarded to a graduate of Nantucket High School who demonstrates a spirit of giving through his/her extracurricular activities and an interest in civic affairs. Award of $1,200. Apply online through the CFN website and scholarship portal.

The Cape Cod chapter of PFLAG is offering two $2,500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who have demonstrated support and advocacy for the LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning) community. The award will be based on evidence of such involvement and effort. Please go to the website for more information on the scholarship and application.

This scholarship is given in memory of Robin L. Harvey and will be given to two deserving, male or female, three-sport student-athletes, who have played three different sports for a minimum of their junior and senior years of high school at NHS. See application for more info.

The purpose of the Rockland Trust Scholarship is to recognize and reward exceptional high school students in for academic achievement and community involvement. Apply online only! Follow the link for more information and the scholarship portal.

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide funding to a graduating senior from Nantucket High School who has taken part in Mentoring opportunities on Nantucket and also plans to pursue a career enriching the lives of children (education, social work, etc.) A scholarship of $1,000 per year, for a period not to exceed 4 years, will be received providing a GPA of 3.5 or higher is maintained. The Shaw-Worth Memorial Scholarship honors New England high school seniors who demonstrate a humane ethic. Each award is given as payment to the college at which the recipient will be matriculating in the fall. Students from New England public, private, parochial and vocational schools are eligible. The Shredder’s Art Studio Scholarship is eligible to past or present Nantucket High School graduates who are pursuing a degree in fine arts including, but not limited to, visual arts, painting, sculpture, ceramics, drawing, film making, photography, fabric arts, graphic design, architecture, jewelry making, printmaking, and/or art therapy. The Siasconset Civic Association awards a scholarship of $3,000 each year to a qualified Nantucket High School senior who is a current, year-round resident of 'Sconset or a recent graduate of Nantucket High School whose family resides in ‘Sconset year-round. The purpose of this program is to encourage and support the enrichment of their education. See application for more information.

This fund shall provide a scholarship to keep Suzanne’s contributions to the Nantucket community and Nantucket High School alive. Individuals who have contributed to the Nantucket community, as well as being intent on pursuing a Library and Information Science degree, and those majoring in education or other education-related field, should apply online through the CFN website and scholarship portal. 

To be eligible for this scholarship a student must be:

1) A practicing Catholic with regular attendance at St. Mary's Church.

2) Contributing member of the Parish.

3) Upright moral character.

4) A sense of responsibility.

This scholarship offers renewable four-year scholarships to students with financial need who display academic achievement, a commitment to serving others, a strong work ethic, grit and passion for overcoming obstacles and/or achieving future goals, and leadership qualities. Apply online!

The Cancer Fighter Scholarship seeks to honor ten (10) graduating high school seniors from around the nation who have been leaders in the fight against cancer. This includes students who have battled cancer themselves, helped loved ones/friends through cancer, or led the fight against cancer in their school and community. The Engineering Center Education Trust Scholarship is offered to eligible MA high school seniors and has a total value of $5000. This scholarship is being offered to students planning to attend an ABET accredited engineering, land surveying, or a pre-engineering program including those at a community college. Town of Nantucket Scholarship was established in 1987 for the purpose of providing educational financial aid to deserving town residents. The criteria for awarding these funds shall be acceptance and attendance at an accredited post-secondary educational institution and will be influenced by academic performance and financial need. The UMass Amherst Cape Cod Alumni Club will be awarding scholarships to qualified Cape Cod and Islands High School seniors who are planning to attend UMass Amherst in the fall of 2026. Graduating seniors with a minimum of a 3.3 GPA are invited to apply for one of the (8) $3000 general scholarships; the $4000 scholarship is for a student majoring in business. Open to students studying Music, Audio Production and/or Music Business at a higher education college, university or vocational school. Scholarships ranging from $1000-$2000 will be awarded to graduating senior(s).
