Aero Club of New England 

 

 

The Aero Club of New England’s scholarship program encourages and helps support careers in aviation. Scholarships are awarded annually to U.S. citizens and permanent residents, who live within the six New England states. Recipients are selected on the basis of merit and need. Our scholarships have expanded in scope to include students in pilot training, aircraft maintenance, and aviation management. Ann and Michael Rosenblatt Women in Mathematics Scholarship Fund

 

 

The Ann and Michael Rosenblatt Women in Mathematics Scholarship Fund was created to provide tuition assistant to femal students who excel in mathematics. Students who have completed higher-level math courses are encouraged to apply. Apply online through the CFN website and scholarship portal.

American Legion (Sons of)

 

This scholarship is awarded by the Sons of the Nantucket American Legion Scholarship Fund to provide educational opportunities to benefit graduates of Nantucket High School who are pursuing higher education at a certified college, university, vocational or technical school. The Baxter Waldman Memorial Scholarship is aimed to assist graduating seniors whose primary residence is Nantucket and who is involved in their school and community. The Cape Cod Foundation awards over 100 scholarships annually to local students pursuing many types of educational paths. Use their online universal application portal to be automatically matched with available scholarships. Deadline is March 1st!

Each year the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center awards seven $1000 scholarships, six to high school students who belong to a veteran family and a seventh is awarded to a student veteran currently enrolled in college. To provide tuition assistance for Nantucket High School graduating seniors in order to keep Jack's contributions to Nantucket High School athletics, the Nantucket community and his dedication to Nantucket's civic government alive. Knights of Columbus will award renewable scholarships to current seniors or to former graduates from Nantucket High School. To be eligible for this scholarship a students must be a practicing Catholic with regular attendance at St. Mary's Church with evidence of parish and community service academic standing, moral character, responsibility, financial need, and extracurricular activities. Gosnold, Inc., the Cape's largest provider of addiction and mental health services, is offering two $2500 scholarships to a graduating Cape Cod senior who has been accepted and is entering college in the fall of 2026. The student must plan to major in psychology, social work or another field of study that is relevant to addiction and/or mental health.

Great Harbor Yacht Club Foundation Harbor Health Scholarship 

 

This scholarship supports a Nantucket High School senior or alumnus pursuing a future in marine science or a harbor-related trade, with demonstrated commitment to the marine environment. Reflecting GHYCF’s mission to protect Nantucket Harbor, it considers both academic and vocational pathways, with financial need as one factor in the selection process. Hagan Scholarship Foundation

 

Eligible to all graduating high school seniors and currently enrolled college students, the Hagan Scholarship Foundation provides up to $7,500 each semester for 8 consecutive semesters for qualifying candidates. Executive Director of the Nantucket Conservation Foundation, Jim Lentowski devoted part of his life to preserving land on Nantucket. Once annually, a scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be paid directly to the academic institution attended by the recipient. Preference of the Magical Chicken Scholarship award will be given to a student who intends to pursue a degree in or related to Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Info Technology. If no such student exists in the graduating class, award shall be presented to a student who has shown passion for technology, without the intention to pursue a related field. Marcia Howe Art Scholarship The Printmakers of Cape Cod invite graduating seniors from Cape Cod high schools who will be majoring in art to compete for two $1000 college scholarships. Bring a portfolio, consisting of eight to twelve pieces, to the Saturday, March 29, 2025 meeting of the Printmakers. The meeting will be held at 10 A.M. at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. The Nantucket Maria Mitchell Association is awarding one scholarship to a graduating Nantucket High School senior who desires to pursue a degree in STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. This is a one-time award.

Mark Bavis Leadership Foundation Scholarship

 

The Mark Bavis Leadership Foundation aims to help deserving young men and women as they aim to improve themselves, their school or their community. The scholarship is available to any high school student in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Eligibility is not academically based, but awarded on the basis of need. Between $1,000-$5,000 will be given to those chosen by the scholarship committee.

Mass Broadcasters Association

 

This scholarship will be awarded to a student who is a Massachusetts resident and with a declared major in a broadcast-related field, and be enrolled or plan to enroll at an accredited two or four-year school. Massachussetts Labor Council General Scholarship

 

Available to high school seniors whose parents, legal guardians, aunts, uncles, or grandparents are members of a labor affiliated with the Greater Southeastern Massachusetts Labor Council. The student applicant may also be a member of a labor affiliated with the labor council. Three $2000 scholarships will be awarded to students who meet the criteria listed on the application

This scholarship is available to seniors, graduates and GED Certificate holders currently enrolled in an accredited culinary school, college or university and have a 2.65 GPA. Nantucket Arts Council Scholarship

 

The Nantucket Arts Council is a non-profit organization that supports and encourages a collaborative community of the visual, performing and literary arts through education, grants, scholarships and events. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide tuition assistance to graduating Nantucket High School seniors who are majoring in the arts: music, dance, literature, drama, and the visual arts. In honor of Tharon Dunn, the Nantucket Book Foundation asks qualifying graduating Nantucket High School seniors to apply. This annual $1000 scholarship will be awarded to an English Language Learner furthering their education. If no English Learners apply, consideration may be given to a student pursuing Literature and/or English Learner Education. Nantucket Booster Club Vocational Scholarship

 

The Nantucket Booster Club Vocational Scholarship will award one $1,000 scholarship to a graduating Nantucket High School senior who plans to pursue their post-secondary education at a vocational, technical or trade school. Applicants must have participated in NHS Athletics for at least two years and be enrolled to begin their trade or technical school between graduation and June of the following year. Nantucket Boys and Girls Club: Meghan Hughes Memorial Scholarship

 

The Meghan Hughes Memorial Scholarship will award two Nantucket High School seniors, male and female, that are in good academic standing and have a connection to NBGC. Applicants must have plans to attend a certified college, university, vocational or technical school. To be eligible for this award, the student must be furthering their education in the study of the natural environment, ecology, biology or natural sciences. The purpose of the fund shall be to provide Scholarships to graduates of Nantucket High School who intend to pursue a career in the fields of fiber arts, textile design or interior design. The Nantucket Police Charitable Association will award scholarships to several graduating seniors and alumni who demonstrate high character and have shown academic success. The NMI Foundation was created to support students with an interest in a career in the maritime industry. The Shaw-Worth Memorial Scholarship honors New England high school seniors who demonstrate a humane ethic.
